Complete Game’s Director of Player Development, Chris Anderson is in his 6th year at CG. A two-time All-State honoree at Centennial HS, Chris was named Minnesota Mr. Baseball in 2010. He was also selected as the state of Minnesota’s Gatorade Player of the Year. Following his senior season, he was drafted in the 35th round of the MLB Draft by the Chicago Cubs but opted to attend Jacksonville University.
Earning the closer job as a freshman at JU, Chris would make an immediate impact appearing in 36 games while racking up 11 saves for the 2011 Gainesville Regional Dolphins. Over the next two seasons, he would go on to make 28 starts compiling 193 innings, 6 complete games, and 170 strikeouts. Chris spent the summer of 2012 with the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox in the Cape Cod League striking out 42 hitters over 33 innings. In his junior season of 2013, CA finished with a 2.29 ERA and led the Atlantic Sun Conference in strikeouts with 101. Following his junior campaign, Chris was selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 1st round (18th overall) of the 2013 MLB Draft.
Chris would spend the next five seasons in professional baseball with the Dodgers and the Minnesota Twins reaching as high as AAA Oklahoma City in 2015. In 2014, Chris led the Advanced-A California League and all Dodger minor leaguers in strikeouts with 146. Over a two-year stretch in 2014-2015, he threw a combined 261 innings with a 4.34 ERA and 244 strikeouts between Advanced-A Rancho Cucamonga and Class AA Tulsa.
Chris joined the Complete Game staff in 2018 bringing an incredible amount of experience to our athletes. Over the last few years, Chris has worked with some of the best pitchers in the North Metro. He oversees all pitching training as well as the operations of our club baseball teams. As a coach, Chris believes in teaching pitchers how to properly gain velocity while continuing to throw strikes and attack hitters. He stresses competing on the mound, pitching with fire and does an incredible job instilling that mindset in our athletes.
